Ingredients
2 Cups Moss® Hushpuppy Mix
3/4 Cup Water
1 Cup Pimento Cheese
1/4 Cup Buttermilk
Directions
Step 01:
In a bowl, mix together the hushpuppy mix and water to a batter consistency. You want the hushpuppy batter to sit for at least 15 minutes
Step 02:
Heat your preferred cooking oil in a fryer or large skillet/dutch oven to 350 degrees
Step 03:
Using a hush puppy tray or a large spoon, scoop the batter into the oil carefully, doing your best to keep the hushpuppies separated once they drop into the oil
Step 04:
While the hushpuppies are frying, combine the pimento cheese and buttermilk in a bowl and mix to combine for the pimento cheese dip. Adjust for desired consistency by either adding pimento cheese to thicken or buttermilk to thin the dip
Step 05:
Fry the hushpuppies until golden brown on both sides, about 6-8 minutes and remove to a plate lined with paper towels or a wire rack on a sheet tray
Step 06:
Serve the golden brown hushpuppies along with the pimento cheese dip and enjoy!
