Sauteed Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Apple

Sauteed Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Apple

Getting tired of the same old side dishes for your weekday meal plans? Brussel sprouts might seem boring, but this recipe is certainly not. Blending just the perfect amount of crispy, fruity & smokey caramelized flavors - You'll crave this new way to cook your veggies! Oh... and did we mention there's bacon in it too? Enough said.

Prep: 15 minutes Cook: 15-20 minutes Serves: 4

Ingredients

1 lb Brussel Sprouts split in half with stems trimmed
3 cloves garlic, minced
6 slices bacon, cut into thirds
2 Red apples, cubed
2 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar

Directions

Step 01: In a 13" skillet, add bacon and bring to medium high heat (Note: adding bacon to a cold pan will allow it to render out more fat as the pan heats, thus giving you a crispier bacon and more fat to cook the brussels in)
Step 02: Stirring as needed, cook bacon until desired level of crisp has been reached and remove.
Step 03: With pan still hot, add in brussel sprouts, cut side down and arrange as many into the pan that can fit comfortably face down
Step 04: Allow brussels to cook for 3-4 minutes on cut side, checking for browning before flipping
Step 05: Once browned, stir in apple, vinegar and garlic
Step 06: Reduce heat to medium, continue to stir occasionally and cook until brussels have softened, about 5-7 minutes. Check seasoning and add salt as needed
Step 07: Serve and Enjoy
